When a phone call is received, perhaps from a parent or guardian reporting a student absence, the details are written directly on to the message slip. This slip can then be removed from the pad and passed on to the staff member concerned.
At the same time as the message slip is completed, a duplicate copy of the message is created on the message register, ensuring that the school office has an accurate record of all messages received. This detail, as well as providing analysis of absences, can also be used to update electronic registers if required.
Each pad contains 120 slips.
